Uncap Pitch Competition 2018

Problem: Relapse rates are high among OUD patients, and 90% of recovery occurs outside of addiction treatment. Patients in recovery will often fall back into old patterns of use after engaging with the same friends and locations they interacted with while taking drugs.

Solution: Realworks hosted the uncapped pitch competition to understand what patient support technology exists. Hey,Charlie won the prize - a $15,000 funded pilot with Realworks’ provider partners. Hey,Charlie is an application patients download on their phone that monitors location along with friends/family messaged. When old patterns of use are detected, Hey,Charlie uses behavioral nudging to send encouraging messages to promote positive behaviors.
